From Art To Print

  1. Black ink spread across a screen, with the squeegee at the top
    01

    The Screen

Your art goes onto a screen, one screen for each ink color in the design.

  2. Blank canvas loaded on the platen of a carousel screen-printing press
    02

    The Press

The garment sits on the press and each color is pulled through its screen, piece after piece.

  3. Printed canvas banners coming out of a conveyor dryer
    03

    The Dryer

Prints ride through the conveyor dryer so the ink cures and stays put.

Printing We’ve Done

Screen Printing, DTF Or Embroidery?

Screen printing

What it is
Ink pressed through a screen onto the fabric: bold, flat color.
Good for
Runs of tees, hoodies and sweatshirts with the same design, and designs with solid colors.
Worth knowing
Each ink color needs its own screen, so fewer colors keep a design simple.

DTF transfers

What it is
A full-colour print on film, transferred onto the garment with heat.
Good for
Small runs and detailed art: photos, gradients and many colors.
Worth knowing
It sits on top of the fabric as a smooth print, not stitched texture.

Embroidery

What it is
Your logo stitched into the fabric in thread. Raised and textured.
Good for
Caps, polos, work shirts, jackets and bags: logos people wear to work.
Worth knowing
Very fine detail and tiny text may be simplified so they stitch cleanly.
